Car Makers Upbeat About Sales Rebound

3 September 2009 No Comment

In a recent Wall Street Journal article by Jeff Bennett, he reviews the current condition of Automotive Dealerships and the encouraging sales in the automotive industry.

stockedlotWe have all heard of the ‘Cash for Clunkers’ campaign that flew across the automotive industry in the past few months, which has finally come to an end. The amount of sales, as explained in the article, has increased for many auto makers; Toyota is up 6.4%, Honda is up by 10%, and Ford is up by 17%*. However, now that the program is over, it is clear that the amount of traffic, as well as sales, has dramatically decreased. According to the article, a dealership in Houston is down to 10-15 customers a day…a far cry from the 40-60 they were seeing during the ‘Cash for Clunkers’ campaign.* Without the incentives and rebates, dealerships are realizing quickly that they are in desperate need of a sales boost.*

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU!?!?!??!
Listen up. The government has done their part in helping boost the sales in the automotive industry, but the boat has come and gone, and it is now time for reality. YOU NEED PEOPLE ON THE SHOWROOM FLOOR. Whatever it takes, right? Automotive Direct Mail. Direct mail campaigns have proven themselves time and time again. If you’re not the dealership that had 500 to 1,000 UPS last week, then you need to get your dealership in gear.
